Staff Sergeant
United States Army
RESOLUTION "Whereas, the pityless scourge of war has invaded our ranks and exacted the life of one our most loved and honored brothers, Staff Sergeant Allan L. Crump, a young man of radiant personality, who shirked no responsibility and who loyally and courageously responded to his country's call in a time of danger; and
Whereas, we are stricken with grief because of the sad tidings that our beloved young friend will no longer, through our church, minister to humanity's needs and whose cheerful smile will not again brighten our lives and lighten our burdens; now therefore,
Be It Resolved by the First Baptist Church of Follett, Texas, that we express the deep sorrow we suffer because of our loss of the companionship of this beautiful Christian character and that we convey to the relatives, and especially the parents, of our brother Allan the sympathy that flows from the depths of our souls; and we pray that the God whom Allan so humbly served will be their Comfort and Strength in their day of distress, when human help is so insufficient; and we pray that they may be consoled by the consciousness that Allan died for the glorious cause of liberty for all men and that for his sacrifice the whole world will call him blessed.By order of the church,W.H. Sewell, Moderator.
